Most spa pumps ship with the wet end in the upright position in form-fitting foam to ensure safe transit. You simply loosen the four bolts at the rear of the motor and rotate the wet end to the desired position and then tighten the bolts back. It's very quick and easy and you don't have to mess with any seals or anything.
